Director, Arizona Project WET, Cooperative ExtensionHolly Thomas-Hilburn is the Director of Arizona Project WET, a University of Arizona Cooperative Extension Program with staff in Pima, Pinal, Maricopa, and Coconino Counties. Holly began with APW in 2008 as the Statewide Arizona Water Festival Coordinator and has since served in a variety of roles focusing on curriculum development, program evaluation, and teacher professional development, becoming the Director in 2021. APW develops STEM Literacy and water stewardship through teacher professional development that transforms education practice and deepens teacher content knowledge, direct student outreach that is a part of the school day, and community engagement in K-12 education. We are at the cutting edge of science education practices and water conservation education. Our existing programs focus on conservation technology, groundwater, watersheds, the hydrologic cycle, and climate adaptation through rainwater harvesting.
