Diana Liverman

Regents Professor, School of Geography, Development and Environment

Diana Liverman is Regents Professor in the School of Geography, Development and Environment at the University of Arizona.  Her work addresses the causes, consequences, and responses to climate change, especially climate vulnerability and climate justice, adaptation, governance, the role of the arts, and the links between environment, sustainable development, and food security.  She was a lead author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Special Report on 1.5°C.  She is a fellow of the AAAS and a member of the National Academy of Sciences. She is currently a member of the Earth Commission and serves on the advisory board of the National Academies Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences and Education (DBASSE) and as an associate editor of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).
